Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that impacted three buildings on Chicago's South Side early Friday.
The fire began sometime around 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 6200 block of South Artesian Avenue in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood, fire officials said.
It was upgraded to a two-alarm fire for additional manpower, the Chicago Fire Department tweeted, later adding that it resulted in a "total burnout" on the 1.5-story bungalow.
Video of the scene showed that the roof of building - which firefighters said was under rehab and not occupied at the time of the fire - had nearly completely collapsed in the blaze.
The bungalow to the south also sustained "substantial damage," fire officials said, with video showing that the roof of the building was impacted.
The fire spread to the two-flat building to the north as well, which officials said suffered "minor damage."
The fire was struck out, fire officials tweeted at around 5:30 a.m., and no injuries were reported.
