2 Men Robbing People at Gunpoint on CTA Trains

Chicago Police are warning residents of two men who have been robbing people at gunpoint on CTA trains and at stations on the North, Northwest and South sides of the city. 

They pulled out a handgun and took the victim’s property before getting off at the next stop or jumping the turnstile, according to a community alert from police. In one incident, they pepper sprayed the victim. 

The robberies happened: 

  • at 4 a.m. June 25 in the 400 block of West 69th Street in Englewood;
  • at 5 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of West Fullerton in Lincoln Park;
  • and at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 3400 block of West Lawrence in Albany Park.

The first suspect was described as a 30-year-old black man, standing 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 140-160 pounds, police said. He wore a Cleveland Cavaliers cap, yellow and maroon shirt and pants and red gym shoes.

The second suspect was described as a 40-year-old black man, standing 5-foot-9 to 6-foot and weighing 170-200 pounds with short black hair, police said. He wore a black polo shirt, black pants and black shoes.
