A woman and her adult son were found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in the southwest Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook.
Police Lt. Mike Rompa says the officers who discovered the bodies were responding to a call on Friday evening in the 100 block of Lake Shore Drive after a report of "suspicious circumstances."
Rompa says officers forced their way inside with the intention of conducting a well-being check. They found a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds.
Bolingbrook Police are investigating the incident as an apparent murder-suicide, police said.
The Will County coroner's office identified the mother and son as 69-year-old Alicia Coronel and 37-year-old Anthony Rataiczyk.
They were pronounced dead at the scene around 9 p.m. Friday.
