Couple Dead in Arlington Heights Motel a Murder-Suicide: Police

Two bodies found in an Arlington Heights motel this week have been identified as a couple who died in a murder-suicide, police announced Friday.

Officers responded to the north suburban Motel 6 at 441 W. Algoquin Road at approximately 1 p.m. Thursday for a death investigation after hotel staff had entered the room and discovered a large amount of blood on the floor.

Upon arrival, police found a dead man and woman in the room.

Investigators say the two were in a romantic relationship and carried out an apparent murder-suicide, as both died of stab wounds and lacerations by a knife.

The murder victim was Cecilia Perez, 41, of Aurora. The man’s identity, which police has classified as the offender, is being withheld until they notify his family.
