2 Critically Wounded in Roseland Shooting

Shooting happened at 111th Street and South Edbrooke Avenue

Two men were critically wounded in a shooting in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood Saturday morning.

The shooting happened about 10:20 a.m. at 111th Street and South Edbrooke Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

One male victim was shot in the chest and the other suffered gunshot wounds to both arms, Kubiak said.

Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford. Both were in serious to critical condition, but the man shot in the chest was in “extremely critical condition,” Langford said.

The CTA’s No. 111 Pullman/111th/115th buses were being rerouted temporarily in both directions around the scene of the shooting because of the police investigation, according to an alert from the CTA.

Area South detectives are investigating.
