Police have charged two men in a stabbing that happened early Saturday morning in the Lake View neighborhood.
Demetrious Moore, 26, and Israel Johnson, 23, were charged in the stabbing, which happened in the 900 block of W. Belmont around 3:30 a.m.
Moore was charged with felony aggravated battery and drug possession. Johnson faces one misdemeanor count of battery causing great bodily harm.
Moore is due in bond court Monday morning.
The two suspects approached the 24-year-old victim from behind and a fight erupted, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
During the brawl, the suspects stabbed the man in the back before fleeing the scene, she said.
The man was taken in good condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He was treated for minor injuries and released, according to a statement from 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney.
