A 19-year-old Northern Illinois University student was shot to death Friday night in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.
Joseph Graves was found unresponsive about 10:30 p.m. inside a car with a gunshot wound to the back of the head in the 700 block of West 92nd Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Graves had just returned home for Christmas break. He was a sophomore business major who graduated from Simeon Career Academy, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
"Somebody knows something, just come forth and say what happened," said Graves' aunt Micheline Terry. "Let that snitch law die. Let it die, because this is going to keep happening."
Authorities are searching for a suspect and there is a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
