A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head on Tuesday afternoon in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side.
About 4:45 p.m., he was outside in the 4800 block of North Linder when someone got out of a silver minivan, opened fire and then drove away, according to Chicago Police.
The teen ran and collapsed in the 5400 block of West Higgins, police said. Paramedics then took him in critical condition to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said.
No one was in custody for the shooting.
Another 17-year-old boy was gunned down less than a mile away in the same neighborhood earlier this month.
