15-Year-Old Girl Sentenced in Sexual Assault

A 15-year-old girl charged with sexually assaulting a special needs student has been sentenced

A northern Indiana girl charged with holding a special needs student at knifepoint then sexually assaulting him has been sentenced to the state Department of Correction's girls school.

The 15-year-old Valparaiso girl and a then-16-year-old April Kuchta were both accused of luring a 17-year-old boy with special needs into Kuchta's home,  the Chicago Tribune reports.

The two teens then handcuffed the boy and held him at knifepoint, forcing him to make humiliating statements while recording the actions on her cell phone. The girls also sexually assaulted the boy in addition to pleading with him for sex, according to reports.

The 15-year-old girl had run away from home several times in the past six months and refused to take medication for her emotional disorder, authorities said. She could be held at the Department of Correction's girls school until she turns 21.

April Kuchta has been charged as an adult on several felony accounts.
