16 Displaced in Christmas Eve Fire

An early morning fire on Christmas Eve in the Gresham neighborhood has left 16 people displaced, including three children.

Fire officials responded to the blaze about 3 a.m. in one unit of a five-story apartment building in the 1800 block of West 79th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The fire was extinguished by 3:25 a.m.

No one was hurt in the fire, according to officials, but 13 adults and three children were affected.

The Red Cross provided food and clothing for two people from the home.

The cause of the fire was unknown early Tuesday.
