A 15-year-old boy was shot after he allegedly tried to rob a man in the city’s South Austin neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, police said.
According to authorities, a 28-year-old man was in the 100 block of North Leamington when he was approached by four people who attempted to rob him.
Police say that the man then pulled out a handgun and shot one of the assailants, a 15-year-old boy. The boy was then taken to Loretto Hospital with a gunshot wound to his elbow, where he is currently in stable condition.
The other three assailants fled the scene, police said.
Area North detectives are investigating the incident, and charges are pending in the case.
