14-Year-Old Boy Dead in Woodlawn Shooting

Two others wounded in drive-by shooting.

Calumet area detectives are looking for the person that killed a 14-year-old boy in a drive-by shooting in Woodlawn just after 6:00 p.m. last night.

Christopher Travis of South Evans Avenue was standing in the street when he was shot in the head.  He was pronounced dead an hour later at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Also injured in the shooting are a 12 year-old male shot in the left ear and right lower leg, and a 19 year-old man shot in the right knee.  The 12 year old is in critical condition at University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.  The 19 year-old was treated and released from St. Bernard Hospital.

Neighbors say someone in a tan, four-door, older model car opened fire on the group while heading east on 65th at Drexel Avenue.
