Three friends killed in ambush shooting

Nicko Grayson faces three counts of first-degree murder.

A 17-year-old has been arrested in a weekend shooting that claimed the lives of three friends Saturday night.

Nicko Grayson is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting outside a bakery shop in the 400 block of E. 87th Street.

Chanda Thompson, 21, Cortez Champion, 21, and another man were killed when a car approached theirs and a gunman inside opened fire and fled.

Police say witnesses helped lead them to Grayson.

Investigators believe the shooting was part of a gang retribution ambush.
