11 Displaced By Late Night Fire

Flames Ripped Through South Side Two-Flat

Eleven people were displaced by a late-night fire that broke out Monday in a two-flat in the Marquette Park neighborhood.

Seven adults and four children escaped the fire on the 6900 block of South Talman Avenue unharmed around 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames within 30 minutes, but the second floor and attic sustained heavy damage.

No word yet what caused the fire.

Representatives from the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago were on the scene to help the affected residents.
