Authorities in Evanston discovered about $100,000 worth of marijuana in a recycling container.

Nine packaged blocks of cannabis weighing a total of about 100 pounds was found in the container after police received a report of suspicious items in the 1000 block of Brown Avenue, Evanston police said.

Police are investigating the sender and the destination of the marijuana.
