10 Injured in Crash on Kennedy

Ten people were transported to area hospitals following a three-vehicle crash on the Kennedy Expressway Sunday morning in the West Loop.

The crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway at Jackson Boulevard, Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper Brian Lavin said.

Eight people were transported to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County while two more were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, all in stable but serious condition, according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor.

Ages and genders of the people involved in the crash were not immediately available.

All injuries are thought to be non-life threatening, and the crash has been cleared from the roadway as of 11 a.m., Lavin said.

Illinois State Police are investigating.
