1 to 3 Inches of Snow on the Way

Blowing snow conditions may reduce visibility Sunday afternoon and evening

Another snow system is on the way for Chicago this weekend, but accumulation is expected to be light.

The snow mix will begin to fall early Sunday morning after midnight. The light wintry mix will turn into snow only by 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

The snow will continue to fall until about mid-afternoon Sunday. Accumulation totals for the Chicago area is expected to be between one and three inches.

The system is expected to hit the southern portion of the Chicago area the hardest, leaving up to four inches of snow.

Winds will pick up by Sunday afternoon and evening, causing blowing snow and reduced visibility.

After a warm start to the weekend, temperatures will drop to below 30 degrees by Sunday night and into Monday before going back up again for the rest of the week.
