1 Dead, 1 Wounded in Shooting Outside CTA Pink Line Station

Two people were shot, one fatally, outside a CTA Pink Line station on Chicago's Southwest Side early Sunday, according to police.

Officers responded to a call of a fight outside the California station in the 2000 block of South California at 7:38 a.m., police said.

There they found two people with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk outside the stop, according to police.

A 24-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Chicago Fire Department. A 25-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hsopital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the leg and buttocks, police and fire officials confirmed.

Pink Line trains resumed normal service around 12:45 p.m. after bypassing the California stop for several hours, according to the CTA.
