One man was killed and at least nine other people were injured in shootings Thursday on the South and West Sides.
About 7:25 p.m., a man was shot and killed in the Englewood neighborhood.
The 28-year-old was shot in the armpit and thigh in the 7000 block of South Sangamon, police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:12 p.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. His name was withheld pending notification of kin.
Most recently, a man was injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night in the South Chicago neighborhood.
The 19-year-old was standing in the front yard of a home in the 8500 block of South Escanaba about 11 p.m., when a light-colored car drove past and someone inside fired shots, police said.
He was shot in the right hand and left thigh and took himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. He was expected to be transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

About five minutes earlier, a man was shot in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The man, 26, was shot in the left hip about 10:55 p.m. in the 11200 block of South Wentworth, police said. He took himself to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
About 8:40 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 5100 block of South Prairie in the Washington Park neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.
Less than an hour earlier, a 16-year-old boy was shot during a fight in the West Englewood neighborhood.
The boy was fighting with three males about 8 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Marquette, police said. He tried to run away, but was shot and suffered a graze wound to the hip.
The boy walked into Rush University Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
About 7:25 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The man was shot in the leg in the 2900 block of West 40th Street, police said. He was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Less than an hour earlier, a man was shot in the lower right leg in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
The man, 20, was shot about 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of West 84th Street, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized.
About 5:45 p.m., a man was shot while driving in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
The man, 26, was driving in the 1600 block of West 71st Street about 5:45 p.m. when someone fired shots in his direction, police said.
A bullet came through the car’s door and he was shot in the lower right leg, police said. The man drove himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
A few minutes after noon, a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting in Englewood.
The teen was standing outside in the 6700 block of South Normal when two males approached and fired a shot in his direction, police said. He was shot in the back of the neck and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
A police source said the teen is a documented gang member.
Thursday’s first shooting happened at 2:56 a.m. in the Chatham neighborhood.
The 28-year-old man was outside in the 0-100 block of East 89th Street when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot, police said. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in good condition.
