Palmer House Teacher Death Ruled an Accident

A south suburban woman fell to her death attempting to slide down a railing the Palmer House Hilton during a Friday night Halloween party has been ruled an accident.

Megan E. Duskey, 23, of Crete, attempted to slide down the railing at the mezzanine level when she lost her balance and fell over the edge to the basement level. She was dead on the scene, according to the medical examiner's office. Police said she suffered head trauma.
 
Duskey, a special education teacher at Orville T. Bright Elementary School, had been partying with friends at the Halloween Party "Haunted Hotel Bar" hosted at the hotel.
 
Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman, Monique Bond, says that counselors will be at Bright Elementary to help staff and students come to terms the loss of their teacher.
