Gutierrez Arrested at White House Action

Few dozen protesters arrested with outspoken U.S. representative

Wearing a T-shirt that read, "Arrest me, not my friends," U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez got his wish.

Gutierrez is a Chicago Democrat who's been extremely active in the immigration reform movement.

He was arrested Saturday during a May Day protest outside the White House, The Hill reported.

Gutierrez marched a group of protesters from Lafayette Square to the fence of the White House, and linked arm-in-arm, they all took a seat, according to The Hill. The representative said he was going to sit until comprehensive immigration reform was passed, or he was arrested.

It was the latter that came first.

The Hill reported that in all, a few dozen protesters were arrested along with Gutierrez.
