Stretches of the Tri-State Tollway will be closed for one-hour intervals so that Commonwealth Edison crews can repair power lines that fell this morning.

Early in the morning a construction crane apparently hit multiple power lines just south of Willow Road and the lines whipped across all six lanes of 294 causing major traffic delays.

Crews will be working on the roadway just east of Milwaukee Avenue and south of Willow Road between noon to 1 p.m. according ComEd.

It will then be re-opened briefly to let traffic through before being closed down again sometime between 1 and 2 p.m.

All work should be complete by 2 p.m.
