Sen. Dick Durbin said Wednesday he will not support Sen. Roland Burris should he run for re-election.

Durbin, appearing in Des Plaines this morning with area mayors, said he's "disappointed" after reading the transcripts of the phone call between Burris and the former governor's brother.

"We stuck our neck out for him" Durbin said. "Now, it turns out he did not give full answers (to the questions he was asked)."

Durbin would not say who he might support, but believes "there will be a spirited contest" in 2010 for the Senate seat formerly held by President Barack Obama.
