A suburban Chicago bakery products company is recalling several brands of peanut butter cookies because of a potential link to a deadly salmonella outbreak.
Three of Downers Grove-based Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products' cookie brands are made with peanut products supplied by Blakely, Ga.-based Peanut Corp.
The voluntary recall Sunday came one day after the U.S. government advised consumers to avoid eating foods with peanut butter. Federal officials are focusing on Peanut Corp. as a source of the outbreak.
More than 470 people have gotten sick in 43 states, including four people in Illinois. At least six deaths are being blamed on the contamination.
Ralcorp says no illnesses have been reported in connection with its recalled cookies. Its cookies are sold at Wal-Mart.
