Fifteen cars were involved in the crash. There has been no word on injuries.

A 15-car pileup on northbound I-294 between Willow and Lake Cook Road caused a big backup on Friday.   Traffic is moving again, but the backup extended at least 10 miles at the height of the problem, just before noon.

The crash was in the express lanes, the Trib reported.  It forced some drivers to turn around and try to go south in the express lanes, causing even more traffic trouble.

Check out our traffic map for up-to-the-minute information.

Cars were backed up beyond Touhy Avenue, but by 1 p.m., tollway cameras in that area showed traffic was moving, although things were still slow around the scene of the crash.

 No serious injuries were reported.
