A Barrington man’s quick thinking saved his dog’s life Sunday.
Dr. Larry Kosinski’s 8-year–old Chihuahua, Valentino, stopped breathing and had no pulse after a dog Kosinski was dog-sitting bit the little pooch, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Lucky for Valentino, Kosinski knows CPR. He gave the tree-pound Chihuahua a set of two rescue breaths, began administering compressions and Valentino was revived.
“It’s not that different from what you would do on an infant,” Kosinski told the Trib.
This was the second time Kosinski saved little Valentino; he and his wife, Sherry, rescued the dog from a puppy mill a few months ago.
