- Real Estate Mogul Death Appears to Be Suicide -- Steven Good, a major figure in Chicago real estate, was found shot dead in a Kane County wildlife preserve, police said Monday.
- Accused Metra Officer Killer Denied Bail -- A Cook County judge refused bail Monday for the 20-year-old Gary, Ind. man accused of murdering a Metra police officer in his car in Harvey more than two years ago.
- Young Woman Found Dead in Alley -- The body of a partially clothed woman was found dead in an alley in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side Monday morning.
- Man Dead After Matteson House Fire -- A 93-year-old man was killed in a house fire. His wife -- who was rescued by a neighbor and a Matteson police officer -- was hospitalized.
- One Dead, One Wounded in Burnside Shooting -- Xavier Lawrence, 20, of the 1000 block of East 93rd Street, was shot on the 9200 block of South Dobson Avenue and was pronounced dead at 4:39 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.
- Officer Hurt in Chatham Crash -- A Chicago Police officer suffered minor injuries during a traffic collision Sunday night in the Chatham community on the South Side.
- South Loop Pizzeria Owner Stabbed -- The owner of Big Daddy's Pizzeria was reportedly stabbed Monday morning in the alley behind his restaurant.
