Call it a hazard of the job.

A man claiming to be a knife salesman tripped on a CTA bus Sunday morning and accidentally stabbed himself in the leg.

A man was walking down the aisle of a CTA bus near Belmont and Milwaukee around 8 a.m. when he tripped and accidentally cut himself in the leg with one of his own knives, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.

The man told police it was an accident and that he was a knife salesman, Kubiak said.

The man, who was selling knives out of a suitcase, lost a lot of blood but his injuries were not  life threatening, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.
