The Obamas will have a little Chicago flavor at their first-ever state dinner Tuesday night, because Jennifer Hudson will provide the entertainment.
Hudson’s recording label, Arista Records, confirmed that the former American Idol contestant and Oscar winner will perform at the White House state dinner to honor Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Politico reports.
It’s not the first time Hudson has performed for a political audience. She also sang the National Anthem at the Democratic National Convention.
She should feel right at home, too. Other rumored Chicago guests include Oprah Winfrey, Chicago hotel billionaire Penny Pritzker, who was a top fundraiser for Obama, as well as White House staples David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett and Rahm Emanuel.
