Illinois, you're not worth the risk.

In a single month the average consumer credit score in Illinois dropped one point from 683 in June to 682 in July, the Sun-Times reports.

With Illinoisan's credit card debt averaging $6,775 and an average mortgage loan of $189,443, it looks like the only good news for our state is that our average credit score is still above the national average of 673, according to Credit Karma.

Most residents also carry student loan debt, which averages $29,310, and auto loan debt, which averages $13,687.

Don't fret,  the biggest recession since the Great Depression may be coming to an end.

A JPMorgan Chase & Co. spokesman said Monday that defaults dropped in July from 8.04 to 7.92, giving the public reason to believe that there may be a light at the end of this credit card debt tunnel.
