Mayor Daley said this week that the 2016 Olympic bid was the only idea left in his brainpan to stimulate the city's economy.

"I have nothing [else] up my sleeve," he admitted.

We do. A few ideas:

- Build a little airport on Northerly Island!

- Build a big airport in the south suburbs.

- Take the parking meter system public.

- More liquor licenses, not less.

- Stop giving money away to friends and family.

- Divert Olympic spending to jobs program delivering better city services.

- Apply new error tax to Cubs.

- Combine all city departments into one called City.

- Franchise city to other cities.

- Video poker on the CTA.

- Sign 75-year lease with the Outfit privatizing all operations in exchange for an upfront cash payment.
