Chicago cops are about to get a lot more camera time.

Feel free to debate whether that’s a good idea.

Apparently the CPD will be the backbone of a new Chicago reality show titled “Missing Persons: Chicago,” the Sun-Times’ Michael Sneed reports.

Chicago native Gary Sherman, who’s directed such films as “Vice Squad” and “Death Line,” pitched the concept to A&E and they liked it.

A couple of Chicago officials will sign off on the project.

Alderman Issac Carothers, who chairs the city’s police council, thinks it’ll be good for the cops.

"We are delighted because the show will present a positive light on the Chicago Police Department, which is extremely successful in finding missing persons."

His committee will vote on the idea on Nov. 17.

Police superintendent Jody Weis is also on board with the project.
