The body of a man found shot to death was discovered inside a car Friday morning in the upscale north suburb of Bannockburn, the Chicago Tribune reports.
He was later identified as 30-year-old Robert Montanez, Lake County Coronor Richard Keller said.
At 4:30 a.m., the "lifeless body of a white male" in his early 30s was reported by a newspaper delivery person, Police Chief Kevin Tracz said. None of the residents of the 13-home cul-de-sac along Dunsinane Lane reported that they knew the man.
Police suspect that the murder -- the first in the town's history -- occurred after some kind of argument on nearby Route 22.
"He's got no reason to be there," Tracz said. "We're just thinking something occurred and the driver pulled down this street -- just a couple hundred yards off Route 22 -- and he was shot," he said.
Former coaches Phil Jackson and Mike Ditka once lived in the upscale neighborhood off Half Day Road.
