What does an accomplished man of the world get for his 66th birthday?

If you're Vice-President-elect Joe Biden, a baseball cap from your boss' favorite team. Biden's birthday is on Thursday, but President-elect Barack Obama surprised Biden on Wednesday after their weekly lunch at the transition office in Chicago with a Chicago White Sox hat and a dozen cupcakes decorated with candles. Obama then teased Biden by telling him, "You're 12 years old!" according to staff members.

Staff also reported that Biden, ever astute in the art of politics, laughed at the his Obama's joke, responding, "Maybe in dog years!"

Obama also gave Biden a Chicago Bears hat and a bucket of Garrett's Popcorn, a Chicago favorite.

As for his birthday, Biden will spend it in Delaware and has no public events scheduled, NBC5's Mary Ann Ahern reported. After surprising Biden, Obama will hold private meetings in Chicago, and no public events will be held.

Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will hold meetings on the Hill with House and Senate Republican leaders to discuss how to best work together and ensure they know that the White House will be open at all times for them, Ahern reported.
