Flying High: 300 Pounds of Pot on Board

Three arrested by feds

Pontiac police are accusing three people of flying high on a plane. Really high.

Authorities found between 300 and 350 pounds of marijuana on a plane during a bust at Pontiac Municipal Airport, according to cops.

Puff, puff, passenger!

Just after 3 p.m. Monday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security told local police to "hold" a twin-engine propeller plane that had been tracked to that airport.

Officials were tipped off when the plane's flight plan changed, and its take-off and destination information could not be verified, according to the Pontiac Daily Leader.

Police dogs alerted authorities to over 300 pounds of marijuana, packed in bales wrapped in plastic, reports Pantagraph.com.

We hope they had plenty of in-flight snacks.

Two men and one woman were taken into federal custody. The two passengers were from California, but the home of the male pilot is unknown, said police.
