Police Pursuit
University Village / Little Italy
One man is dead and two others were in serious-to-critical condition after the car they were in rolled and struck a tree during a police pursuit early Wednesday on the West Side, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Police said they recovered 10 car stereos from the crashed car.
Student Shot, Killed
Bronzeville
An 18-year-old junior at Chicago Vocational Career Academy was gunned down in what police said was a gang-related, drive-by shooting, the Chicago Tribune reported. Gerrod Thomas was shot in the chest, police said. No one is in custody.
Home Invasion
Lincolnwood
One person was shot in the abdomen and another hit with a blunt object, the Chicago Tribune reported, during a home invasion Wednesday morning. Three young men wearing black hooded sweatshirts barged into the home in what police said didn't appear to be a random act.
