Toddler Burned
Aurora
A 3-year-old girl suffered third-degree burns over 18 percent of her body during a possible arson incident, the Chicago Tribune reported.  A 17-year-old relative was arrested.

Police-Involved Shooting
Altgeld Park
A suspect who fired shots at police in custody after also allegedly shooting a man in the leg on the West Side early Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.  Police returned fire, but neither the shooter nor the officers were injured during the exchange.

Attempted Child Abduction
Oak Lawn
Oak Lawn police have issued a community alert after a man asked three young girls if they wanted to ride in his sport utility vehicle, the Chicago Tribune reported.  The girls ran away and told a teacher what happened.
