Hail a Pink Cab to Fight Breast Cancer

Roughly 100 cab companies nationwide expected to participate

Several Chicago Cabs will be changing colors for a cause next month.

Beginning Friday and throughout October, at least one completely pink taxi will be out picking up fares as part of a national fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Most cabs will display pink decals to show their support, but Yellow Cab went all-out, painting one of their taxis entirely pink to support the cause.

For every trip that participating cabs make, $1 will go to the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation of Chicago. About 100 cab companies around the country are expected to participate.

"It's not just the money, it's the awareness factor," said Taxi Medallion Management CEO Jeff Feidman, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Taxi Medallion Management  manages Yellow, Checker, Blue Diamond and American United cab companies.
