Um, Thanks? Walgreens Offers Flu Shot Gift Cards

Available in stores, not yet online

What would you like for your next birthday? New shoes? A new cell phone?

How about a flu shot?

Walgreens will soon offer "flu shot gift cards" at its stores nationwide.

After all, nothing says "Congratulations!" like a shot in the arm.

"Whether you have college kids going back to school or have friends, co-workers, or family members you want to protect this flu season, the flu shot gift card is a thoughtful way to make it even easier for them to get a flu shot at Walgreens," Kermit R. Crawford, executive vice president of the Deerfield-based pharmacy, said in a press release.

For $29.99, each card will be good for one flu shot at any Walgreens pharmacy or Take Care Clinic, while supplies last.

The gift cards are reportedly available at all Walgreens locations and "will soon be available through Walgreens.com."

Socks and underwear don't look so bad now, eh?

Then again, if you're feeling generous (and germaphobic), maybe you can buy gift cards for the people you share an office with.
