If you resolved to lose weight this new year, you won't be alone. Oprah Winfrey is right there with you.

On Monday, Winfrey's daytime talk show launched its "Best Life Week," where she publicly addressed her life-long weight problems:

"It's not about the food. It's about using food—abusing food. Too much work. Not enough play. Not enough time to come down. Not enough time to really relax."

Winfrey has reportedly gained over 40 pounds over the last four years. Her adviser and fitness expert, Bob Greene, could see that her busy workdays were taking a toll on her health.

"I looked in her eyes and she wasn't there. She was very vacant and distracted," Greene said, the Sun-Times reports. "I felt she was losing her zest for life."

Winfrey, who has been diagnosed with a hormonal imbalance known as hypothyroidism, has pledged to devote more of her hectic schedule to her own well-being in 2009.

"When you love yourself enough, you take care of yourself. You have to make yourself a priority."
