Tips for a heart healthy Valentines

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, isn’t it time to start thinking of that special someone... surprising them with chocolate after they’ve lost that holiday weight, may send you to the doghouse.

Here are a few “heart healthy” ideas for Valentines Day:

Exercise a better relationship

Start exercising together.  Many gyms are offering partner workouts.  East Bank club’s fitness trainers, like Noby Takaki can show you partner pushups, med ball drills and ways to improve your performance with your partner.  East Bank’s Valentine’s Day Partner Training class is Monday, February 14 from 5-5:30 p.m.

Other gyms are on board as well like LA Fitness or Anytime Fitness in Naperville.  LA Fitness is offering a free partner pass to invite your Valentine in for a workout.  Simply enter in your zip code and print yourself a pass. Anytime Fitness in Naperville is offering a free pass for your Valentine.  Simply stop in the gym on Feb. 14th with your special partner and enter for free.

Zero Calorie Chocolates

“Chocoholics” can celebrate Valentine’s Day by treating themselves to a zero calorie indulgent Chocolate Spa Service.  Raw cocoa helps slow down the natural aging process, fights free radicals, and restores a natural radiance and glow to healthy skin.

East Bank Club spa offers chocolate spa services  available throughout the month of February – all include a chocolate exfoliating scrub, a soothing chocolate body butter massage and a chocolate facial mask.

A great gift idea for males or females is a yearly magazine subscription.  Better than flowers that fade or wine that leaves you hung over, Men’s Health, Fitness Magazine, or Prevention can remind them of you throughout the year instead of just Valentine’s Day.  -- another zero calorie, heart healthy idea!
