A suburban Chicago dentist wants to turn trick-or-treating into a cavity free experience.
While kids love filling up their goody bags trick-or-treating, all that candy is not exactly good news for their teeth; sugar promotes cavities. So, the Tinley Park dentist is offering a Halloween Candy Exchange.
Dr. Robert Thies, who owns the Amazing Smiles Family Dental Care, wants kids to bring their candy to his office, and in turn, he will give them a variety of gift certificates that can be used at such stores as Best Buy, Toys R Us, Target, Borders and Hollywood Video.
What’s more, grand-prize gift baskets will be given to children who bring in the most candy. That will be determined by weight.
The Halloween Candy Exchange will be held at Amazing Smiles Family Dental Care on two days: Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday Nov. 6, from 8:00 a.m. through 1:00pm.
