Are you looking forward to fireworks this weekend?
We're not talking about colorful explosions in the sky. According to Trojan, condom sales usually increase during the week of Independence Day.
"The Fourth of July is historically a big sales event for condom manufacturers and distributors," said Jim Daniels, Vice President of Marketing for Trojan Brand Condoms. "When the holiday falls on a long weekend, another traditional condom sales driver, the resulting sales spike can be even more pronounced..."
So get out there, and have an explosive holiday! Because according to Trojan's States of Pleasure survey, Chicagoans could use a few more fireworks in the bedroom.
The survey says that, on average, Chicagoans have sex 73 times a year, or about 6 times a month.
This isn't nearly as "lucky" as it sounds though. The national average is actually 84 times a year. And we've got nothing on the—ahem—top three cities: Washington, D.C., gets busy 86 times a year (all those politicians), Atlanta gets hot and heavy 88 times a year, and Houston is knocking boots 101 times a year!
But more sex doesn't necessarily mean better sex.
According to the survey, despite our relatively low activity, Chicagoans don't seem bothered. In fact, 66 percent of city residents say they are sexually satisfied. And while folks in Atlanta and New York City might be having less sex than those in Houston, they are reportedly more satisfied than the energetic Texans.
Trojan's survey was conducted online among a sample of 1,000 men and women over the age of 18. In addition, 150 surveys were conducted among adults in each of the ten largest U.S. cities.

How do you compare with the Chicago average?
