Comcast representatives on Monday are holding an open house and job fair for military veterans.
The event takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Comcast offices at 2001 York Rd., in Oak Brook.
Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, including NBC Chicago, is a participant in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's "Hiring our Heroes" program.
Those attending Monday's fair will learn about career opportunities with the company.
"Comcast has hired a number of talented veterans over the last couple of years, and we look forward to hiring more to fill some of the positions currently open in the region," said John Crowley, Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region senior vice president.
The company in 2011 committed to hiring 1,000 veterans by 2015. It achieved that goal two years early and made a new goal of an additional 1,000 hires by 2015.
