The Nordstrom shoe department is a Sex and the City girl's dream (well, the Manolo/Jimmy section, at least). And for three more days, we can all take advantage of shoe shopping -- Carrie-style -- because their Half-Yearly sale is in full swing. As the name connotes, a half yearly sale only happens ... twice a year (more often than trips to Alinea , Mediterranean cruises or Thanksgiving).

Save up to 33% on your favorite brands, including Betsey Johnson, L.A.M.B., Nannete Lepore, Stuart Weitzman and Via Spiga (the fashion-friendly list goes on and on); save on handbags, accessories, apparel and shoes. In this economy, it's cool (and oh-so-cheeky) to be an Economista. Why pay full price, even for Manolos or Jimm(ies), when you can buy them for up to 33% off?

What makes shopping at Nordstrom even more pleasant? Their fab coffee shop. Sip on an Ice Storm (one of THE best coffee drinks in the world) while you peruse maxi dresses, Grecian sandals and oversized sunglasses that do little to protect you from UV rays.

No matter where you live, there's a Nordstrom for you. Take a long lunch and break up your 9 to 5 by hitting the Michigan Avenue location. Hop on 90/94, roll down the windows, turn up the music and enjoy a day of outdoor shopping at the Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. Or, if the urge hits you, head south to the Oak Brook location.

Basically, Nordstrom is all around you: North, South and East (we'll work on West). Go now because it's going to be another six months before you can again. And, hey, Thanksgiving's a long time away.

Erica drinks so much coffee that her hands shake as she writes for and edits CheekyChicago.com.
