Report: McDonald's to Begin Table Service at Some U.S. Restaurants

The move is one of the latest in the fast food company's bid to revive business and revamp its image

McDonald's customers will soon have the luxury of being waited on at the fast food restaurant as the company continues its image makeover.

Fifty restaurant locations in the U.S. are testing out the new table service, according to CNN Money. At these locations, customers can order food at a touchscreen kiosk and then wait at tables for an employee to bring them their meals.

McDonald's has already introduced table service in Australia, Germany and France with positive results, according to CNN Money.

The move is one of the latest in the fast food company's bid to revive business and revamp its image.

Last week McDonald's announced it would cut about 225 corporate jobs to help revitalize its flagging business.

On the food front, the chain has been making changes to its menu all year. In June, it announced appetizers would soon appear on menus in Wisconsin restaurants, and in March, the company appealed to a more health-conscious crowd as it announced it would cut the use of antibiotics in its chicken products.
