Groupon maybe finding another daily deal in their in box worth more than the alleged offer they received from Yahoo a few weeks ago. Google may have set its mind on purchasing the Chicago-based Internet coupon sensation.

Despite reports to the contrary, Google has not purchased Chicago-based coupon site, and Internet behemoth, Groupon for $2.5 billion.

Earlier Monday Vator.tv's Faith Moreno reported that a rumored deal between the companies was complete. Google, however, shot down the news.

"We don't comment on rumor or speculation," said Google Media Spokesman, Aaron Zamost.

He also added that it prohibited him "to confirm/deny/or provide a time frame" of when we could expect any information confirming or invalidating the rumors.

(As of press time, Groupon had not replied.)

The Google-Groupon frenzy started a few weeks ago when there was speculation that the Chicago-based Internet coupon sensation had received a daily offer from Google.

Last month, there was speculation that Yahoo had offered $3 billion to purchase Groupon, but as it turned out, it was only a rumor. But it had several people watching.
