Killer Typhoon Lashes Cambodia

Typhoon Ketsana leaves trail of destruction across Southeast Asia

Typhoon Ketsana pounded central Cambodia and left at least 11 people dead and 29 injured Wednesday after having earlier laid waste to Vietnam and the Philippines, The Associated Press reported.

"We're used to storms that sweep away one or two houses. But I've never seen a storm this strong," Kampong Thom provincial governor Nam Tum told the AP.

Over the weekend, flooding from the typhoon killed 246 people in the Philippines and damaged the homes of 2.3 million people. The storm then swept into Vietnam’s central coast on Tuesday, killing at least 52 people.

Ketsana has since been downgraded to a tropical storm.
