WASHINGTON -- Sure, the President must be under a lot of stress lately with his trip out of the country and resistance to his administration’s health care reform while he’s away, but he most likely still remembers his own name.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for his staffers.

A press release boasting of an accord about nuclear arms reduction between President Obama and President Dmitry Medvedev of Russia also contained a boo-boo: the agreement was said to be signed by “Barak Obama.”

The actual accord follows key points of the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) that will expire in December. In compliance with the plan, the United States and Russia will both have to reduce their nuclear arsenals by as much as a third.

The accord is said to be the most important negotiation that took place during a meeting between the two men. We can only hope that all the important words were spelled correctly.

The staffers at the State Department made a equally embarrassing mistake earlier this year when they classified Texas as a country on Hillary Clinton's agenda. And, like their counterparts at the State Department, Obama's staffers corrected the error on White House site. Quickly.
