Photos of three Illinois National Guardsmen killed in Afghanistan earlier this month were released Monday.
Sgt. Christopher Abeyta, 23, was a resident of Midlothian, and was on his second deployment with the Illinois Army National Guard.
Sgt. Robert Weinger, 24, was a Round Lake Beach resident who wanted to become a police officer. Spc. Norman Cain, 22, was from Mount Morris. He was married with two children.
All three men were killed March 15 in Afghanistan. They were part of the Company D, 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry, based in Woodstock, Ill.
